At Waddingham Primary School, we are committed to providing a rich, ambitious and carefully planned curriculum that equips every child with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to succeed both now and in the future.

Our curriculum is built around a combination of high-quality published schemes and bespoke curriculum design. We carefully select nationally recognised programmes to ensure strong subject knowledge, progression and consistency, whilst adapting learning to reflect the needs of our pupils, our community and the opportunities available within our local area.

Learning is thoughtfully sequenced to help children build on what they already know, make meaningful connections across subjects and retain knowledge over time. By revisiting and applying key concepts in different contexts, pupils develop a deeper understanding and are able to remember more.

Across school, children follow a carefully planned two- or three-year curriculum cycle which ensures full curriculum coverage while providing engaging and varied learning experiences. Learning is designed to be purposeful, relevant and inspiring, encouraging children to ask questions, think critically and develop a genuine curiosity about the world around them.

We believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our curriculum is enriched through a wide range of experiences that bring learning to life and help children develop as confident, well-rounded individuals. Through educational visits, residential experiences, performances, sporting opportunities, STEM events, community projects, leadership roles, cultural experiences and encounters with the wider world, pupils develop the cultural capital, resilience and aspiration needed to thrive.

We have high expectations for all children and encourage them to take pride in their work, develop independence and challenge themselves to achieve their very best.
