Safeguarding and Caring for our Children

Parents should be aware that the school is required to take any reasonable action to safeguard its children. In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill- treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, the Headteacher is obliged to follow the Child Protection procedures established by the Lincolnshire County Council and Lincolnshire Children’s Safeguarding Board and inform the Children’s Services of the concern.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Hanson-Church and Mrs Irving is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Rev Kathy Colwell  and Sue Fernyhough are our governors for safeguarding.

Care of Children

We aim to offer a secure and encouraging environment where children’s moral, cultural and spiritual development is enhanced through delivery of the curriculum in general and through our PSHE programme in particular.

With the exception of break and lunchtime, each member of staff is responsible for the care of children in their class. Members of staff share responsibility for the care of children at break times. At lunchtimes the Midday Supervisors, together with the Headteacher, take responsibility for the children’s welfare. When accidents occur they are dealt with by a member of the school staff in the first instance. If further action is required parents will be contacted. Should you have any worries or concerns about your child in school you should contact your child’s teacher in the first instance. The Headteacher is also available (by prior arrangement if possible) to discuss any more serious concerns.
